SAHIL REPORT SUMMARY
On May 12, 2016, Media gave a massive coverage to a child sexual abuse scandal in Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On May 23, 2016, Sahil team consisting of four members, including a psychologist, two lawyers and a Regional Office Coordinator visited Mingora, Swat on a fact finding mission and to provide required support to the victims of Child Sexual Abuse. Sahil team met all the concerned police officials, local Islahi Committee Aman Tanzeem Malakand Division members, civil society organization and media persons. Sahil also met with the victims and their families. The three abusers were already arrested by the police. Sahil facilitated medical treatment for the victims. They were also referred to local psychologist for continuous counseling sessions. Two referral Lawyers were provided by Sahil for free legal aid. Sahil is doing a continuous follow-up of the case.
