What is Alternate Healing?

Healing is accomplished quickly using modern therapeutic processes grounded in energy psychology and strategic psychotherapy. Healing begins when the commitment is made to discover the hidden truth about oneself. Personal healing requires a willingness and commitment to honesty and truthfulness with oneself and with the therapist.

Reiki is the energy healing system based on the belief that thoughts have the power to direct energy. Reiki treats the whole person, body, mind, emotions and spirit. It noticeably reduces stress which helps to create a more positive attitude.

Meditation

Meditation involves silencing our mind. It is not an intellectual activity, but an attempt to expand our consciousness and be aware of our ‘real sense of being.’ Meditation can be a practical tool for relaxation, concentration and better health; it can also be an invaluable tool to self discovery.

Emotional Freedom Technique

The emotional freedom technique (EFT), developed by Gary Craig is very useful for unblocking and healing strong emotions, fears, anxiety, emotional pain, anger, traumatic memories, phobias and addictions as well as for reducing body symptoms and pain, such as headaches, overall body pain and phantom pain for amputees. It helps to accept the actual loss of trauma and that acceptance minimize denial towards traumatic events.

 Deep Breathing

Deep breathing exercises can greatly help relax the body and mind. Breathing deeply through the nose at a slow count will help to relax the muscular system–especially the neck and shoulder muscles, where many people carry a lot of tension. This is because when you breathe deeply it sends a message to your brain to calm down and relax. The brain then sends this message to your body. Those things that happen when you are stressed, such as increased heart rate, fast breathing, and high blood pressure, all decrease as you breathe deeply to relax.
